Child Safety Standards
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Zero tolerance: Any content, conduct, or intent related to child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE) is strictly prohibited on the Remi platform. Violations are removed immediately, the account involved is permanently suspended, and the matter is reported to the relevant authorities.
1. Our Policy
Remi treats protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation as one of its highest priorities. This page is published under the Google Play Child Safety Standards Policy and explains:
- Prohibited conduct and content
- How users can report suspicious content
- How we handle reports and when we escalate to the authorities
- Our contact details
2. Prohibited Conduct
The following content and conduct are strictly prohibited on Remi:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — visual, textual, or audio content in any form
- Notes, tags, or comments that sexualize minors
- Attempts to contact minors for sexual purposes (grooming) — including in direct messages
- Sharing or sexualizing images of minors
- Any statement that promotes, normalizes, or praises child abuse
On Remi, strangers cannot message one another directly: direct messaging is only possible between mutual friends, and it requires a friend request to have been accepted first. When you block a user, any existing friendship and pending requests are removed as well; a blocked person cannot send you messages or reach your notifications.
3. Age Policy
Remi is not designed for users under the age of 13. On the sign-up screen, before an account is created, the user must declare that they are over the age of 13 and accept the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use; registration cannot be completed without this consent. If we detect an account belonging to a user under the age of 13:
- The account is suspended immediately
- All user data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- A parent or guardian may request information about the matter at remithememory@gmail.com
4. In-App Reporting
Every user can report content within Remi directly from the app. The flow is the same everywhere: tap Report, pick a reason, and submit.
- Memory: open the memory → ⋮ menu in the top right → Report
- Photo or voice note: long-press the photo/recording in the memory → Report
- Comment: tap the flag icon next to the comment
- User profile: open the profile → ⋮ menu in the top right → Report
- Direct message: long-press the message in the conversation → Report
The reason options are: Spam, Harassment, Inappropriate content, Copyright infringement, and Other. When you see content related to child sexual abuse (CSAE), select Inappropriate content; if you select Other, a description field opens and you can write "CSAE" or "child safety" there. These reports are handled as a priority.
The identity of the person filing a report is not shared with the reported user.
Besides reporting, you can block a user with Block from the same menu on their profile; this immediately cuts off all contact between the two of you.
5. Review and Enforcement Process
Every report goes through the following steps:
- Human review: Our team evaluates the report manually. CSAE or CSAM reports are prioritized within 24 hours.
- Content removal: When a violation is found, the content is hidden or removed from the admin panel.
- Account enforcement: If the violation is confirmed, the account is suspended or permanently closed.
- Legal notification: Cases where CSAE or CSAM is identified are reported to the relevant legal authorities (see Section 6).
- Record-keeping: All reports and admin actions are retained in the audit log.
6. Reporting to Legal Authorities
When Remi identifies content related to child sexual abuse, it fulfills its obligation to notify the relevant legal authorities:
- Türkiye: reported to the BTK and the Ministry of Justice under Law No. 5651
- United States: reported to the NCMEC CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org)
- European Union: reported to member states' national hotlines through the INHOPE network
- Other countries: reported to the relevant authorities in accordance with local legislation
Technical evidence of the content in question (timestamps, IP, account details) is stored securely throughout the legal process and shared only with authorized authorities.
